A large (20.8cm in length!) and significant specimen for this exquisite Calcite and Amethyst combo species from the classic locality of Iraí, Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil.  Countless crystals of Calcite with well-developed and pristine radiating spray nicely arranged to form in floral (or star) shape, they are transparent to translucent with superb luster, mesmerizing!  The Quartz var. Amethyst crystal has a robust, lavender color and is gemmy throughout.  Small, pretty golden tufts and dark brown aggregates of Goethite embedded in and sprinkled on the Amethyst, adding uniqueness and aesthetics to the piece, outstanding!  From a 2019 pocket, only a few pristine pieces exist.  It is large and impressive, the contrasting colors, the complex form of the Calcite all combined to make this a really stunning museum quality specimen.  As a bonus, the Calcite fluoresces pink in long wave UV lighting 365nm.  The photos don’t do it justice because it is way more pretty and exquisite in person!  A large, high quality copper-wired display stand will be given to best show off this masterpiece.
