The Daye Copper Mine is known for its magnificent, great variety of mineral combo specimens, occasionally it produces some of the finest Calcite specimen in the world, and this is a good example. Mined in early 2020, this masterpiece comprises of several gemmy, scalenohedral Calcite with beautiful symmetrical form and superb luster. The Calcite crystals have a medium champagne color and are perfectly terminated. It is called the Diamond Calcite in the Chinese mineral world because of its supreme clarity and gemminess, like a diamond that shines from many facets. The highlight of the piece is the Feather Calcite intergrowth. They are artfully shaped by the mother nature, like beautiful feathers that are absolutely stunning and finely crafted. As a bonus, the Calcite fluoresces bright orange-red in UV light 365nm. Without doubt, this is one of the most striking Calcite combination piece in its size class, complexity and quality from this deposit that we’ve seen.
