Skeletal Herkimer Diamond from Herkimer County, New York, USA
Dimension: 7.3cm x 6.2cm x 5cm
Weight: 171g
Locality: Herkimer County, New York, USA
A considerably large Quartz var. Herkimer Diamond featuring stout characteristics – skeletal occurrence and clay inclusions. This batch of February 2022 new find was excavated from a private location in the Herkimer County of New York, USA. They were found completely, individually clay-coated in the soil and every single one of them represents a perfect floater specimen, outstanding! This example is highly lustrous and transparent which is partially coated with Limonite on the prism faces, giving it a fantastic citrine to yellow-brown color. Recognized by its unique etchings and internal cavities filled with clay minerals resulting from unstable conditions during crystallization 500 million years ago, they are often formed with geometric lines, patterns and raised terminations etched into the Quartz surface. For added aesthetics, it displays beautiful rainbows inclusions. This batch is by far the best examples of this very rare species ever found anywhere. I must say these are more beautiful and interesting to look at in real person than photos/videos. Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
