“Chocolate” Calcite with Hematite-Goethite Inclusions from Daye Copper Mine

A new species discovered in a small January 2022 find from the world-class locale of the Daye Copper Mine in China. They are commonly called “Chocolate Calcite” by the local Chinese because their shapes and colors resemble chocolate blocks, so funny!  Reddish brown colored Hematite-Goethite pseudomorph after the Calcite rhombohedrons in the center, with a second generation of transparent Calcite formed and coated the thin layer of Hematite-Goethite in a later stage of crystallization, it is such an unprecedented and complex mineral formation, impressive!  The overall aspect of the color gradation and the mineral combinations add to its uniqueness and uniqueness, it definitely stands out dramatically.  Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
