Octahedral Fluorite on Drusy Quartz from Piaotang Mine
Dimension: 13cm x 10.5cm x 5.8cm
Weight: 808g
Locality: Piaotang Mine, Xihuashan ore field, Dayu Co., Ganzhou, Jiangxi, China
An aesthetic arrangement of a translucent, peppermint-green Octahedral Fluorite crystal nestled in a bed of very drusy Quartz crystals. From the Piaotang mine in Jiangxi Province, China, the Fluorite crystal is built from pyramidally-stacked small cubic crystals and is coated by tiny little Quartz crystals like a sugar-coated candy. The pastel green Fluorite contrasts well against the drusy white Quartz creating a "snow melting" effect. A beautiful large cabinet sized specimen, in perfect condition.
Fluorite's Maintenance Advice:
Fluorite is extremely susceptible to sunlight, some colours fade slower than others, but they all fade under sunlight. The effect also happens under normal halogen light. Therefore keep Fluorite in a darker part of the home, away from direct sunlight unless it needs to be cleansed and charged. To cleanse and charge Fluorite, just pop it on a windowsill out of direct sunlight or even on a cloudy day for 10 minutes. If it doesn't feel like that is enough, you can use reiki or sound too.
