Two of my miner’s friends had been lucky enough to have discovered recently, in late April, another very small pocket find of these world’s best Veszelyite crystals at the Laochang Mine in Yunnan, China.  It’s taken them almost a week to have excavated around a dozen specimens from the pocket, some of them were very difficult to reach because they were hidden in a narrow “tunnel” inside the pocket, according to the miners.  No other pocket or style comes close to the color and complexity of material from this locality, with the best colors and quality, of which this particular piece is the maximal size.
 
Vivid blue Veszelyite is a rare mineral only found in a few places worldwide, and this large cabinet specimen measuring 14.6cm across displays a shimmering Veszelyite “streams” flowing across a light tan matrix, so stunning!
