Chalcopyrite on Siderite from Kaiwu Mine, Bijie, China
Dimension: 6.9cm x 5.7cm x 4.4cm
Weight: 270g
Locality: Kaiwu Mine, Hezhang Co., Bijie Prefecture, Guizhou Province, China
The Bijie Prefecture in China has produced top quality Chalcopyrite and Siderite combination pieces that are amongst the best in the world. This fine and luxurious specimen features brassy, vivid gold tetrahedral crystals of Chalcopyrite, which show an exceedingly shinny metallic luster, are aesthetically grown on top of the translucent, olive-green bladed crystals of Siderite. The Chalcopyrite is very abundant and occupied more than 50% of the piece. It is way more beautiful in person than photos, it is just too difficult to capture its vibrant color and shine. An exquisite and stunning display piece to add to any collections!
The video best speaks for itself although the colors are still not as vivid as the real thing.
